Cabinet has instructed the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy to prepare the Consumer Protection Bill and has also approved, in principle, the establishment of the Consumer Protection Agency.

The directive is part of the resolution taken at the last Cabinet sitting.

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade held a consultation on Consumer Protection and Consumer Education to promote and create awareness about consumers' rights and high-quality services.
