The City of Windhoek donated safety gear to 150 cyclists and pedestrians, marking the conclusion of the city’s Zero Emissions Week 2025 campaign.

The donation aims to reaffirm the city’s commitment to residents' safety by distributing helmets and reflector jackets to commuter cyclists and pedestrians. 

Trans Kalahari Corridor cyclists arrive in Windhoek

Cyclists who undertook 1800 kilometres from South Africa through Botswana arrived in Windhoek today in a celebratory mood.

The cyclists' destination will be the coastal town of Walvis Bay, where they will join the 20th celebration of the Trans Kalahari Corridor (TKC) on Monday.

A group of cyclists from Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa have undertaken a 1,800-kilometre ride to raise awareness about the significance of the Trans-Kalahari Corridor (TKC). 

The cycling initiative is a first step towards the elimination of tariff barriers erected at borders and within countries.
