The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform (MAFWLR) is stepping up measures to prevent corruption in Namibia's fisheries sector and advocating for tight controls and transparency.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) convened a regional consultative workshop in Otjiwarongo to gather stakeholder input for Namibia’s Third National Anti-Corruption Strategy and Action Plan (2026-2030).

ACC Director-General Paulus Noa emphasized the incompatibility of good governance and corruption:

President-Elect Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah warned that it will not be business as usual after she assumes office on 21 March next year.
