President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on young Namibians to write, saying that literature and novels influence people's lives in one way or another.

Dr. Alpo Mbamba Senior Secondary School in Rundu has launched a media hub programme.

The hub intends to address youth empowerment, job creation through the creative industries and the development of a knowledge-based economy driven by local content. 

The Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, said N$50 million allocated to creative industries is expected to generate approximately 500 jobs and host the Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMAs).

The Filmmakers Association of Namibia (FAN) has stepped up its regional outreach as part of its 2026 National Membership Drive.

The association reaffirmed its commitment to decentralised growth in the creative and cultural industries.

Creative Culture Investments (CCI), in partnership with UNESCO and the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Sports, Youth, Arts and Culture, has begun drafting a Cultural and Creative Industries Strategy for 2026-2030.
