As temperatures soar and the holiday season approaches, a strong appeal has been made to residents of Walvis Bay and Swakopmund to exercise caution around coastal waters.

Between January and May 2025, the Oshana Region police reported 26 drowning incidents, with the majority occurring in February and March.
