The Kunene Region's small-scale mining sector has been facing several challenges despite its significant potential in mineral resources.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has described the administration of the Ruacana Town Council as "chaotic" and has ordered an urgent investigation into its financial and operational affairs.

The Omusati Regional Governor Immanuel Shikongo has commissioned a community prepaid water point in Olyonime Village, Ruacana Constituency recently.

The project is funded by the Omusati Regional Governor's Office at a cost of N$164,000.
