Prime Minister Dr. Elijah Ngurare has asked the Nkurenkuru Town Council to explore ways to allocate land to Reverend Helena Kudumo.

The Etayi Constituency Councillor’s Office has donated gardening materials worth N$39,000 to Unity Garden Investment, a youth-led horticultural project based in Oheke village.

The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Ruth Masake, commended the organisers of the 18th Lüderitz Crayfish Festival for a well-organised festival.

Masake, together with her delegation, toured corporate and SME stalls at the Lüderitz Waterfront.

The Confederation of Namibian Fishing Associations (CNFA) has warned the government against auctioning fishing quotas.

Its Chairperson, Matti Amukwa, said the approach discourages the nationalisation of the industry.

Amukwa was speaking at the annual fishing industry address at Walvis Bay.

The locust and fall armyworm outbreak reported in the Zambezi Region since mid-January continues to devastate maize crops, despite ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform to spray affected fields.

The hunting season for designated game species will officially open on the 1st of next month.

The Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism has announced that hunting will be permitted for specified game species on commercial farms measuring no less than 1,000 hectares.

There is a need to align policies, institutions and resources with the country's natural heritage to close biodiversity financing gaps.

Namibia has a shortage of seeds, and land is not freely available for seed production.

But green schemes such as Sikondo in the Kavango West Region are contributing to food security by setting aside land solely for the production of seeds.
