The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Land Reform has observed a heavy locust infestation in the Lake Lyambezi belt areas of Muyako to Kapani in the Zambezi Region.

Swakoppoort Dam stands at 83% capacity, and Von Bach at 81.2%. Goreangab remains nearly full at 100.5%, down slightly from 100.8% last week.

Otjivero Main Dam holds 36%, Tilda Viljoen 64.1%, and Dan Viljoen 66.6%.

Small-scale farmers at Lake Lyambezi in the Muyako area of the Zambezi Region are concerned about their harvests due to a locust infestation.

The Namibia National Farmers' Union (NNFU) says the retrenchment of 60 workers by the Mashare Agri Group is an unfair labour practice that goes against labour law.
