Agriculture Ministry prepares draft resettlement criteria

Small-scale farmers who, in the future, would want to be resettled could be required to have resource ownership or access capital to the value of at least N$200,000 per year.

They must, however, relinquish any agricultural land rights they may hold elsewhere in the country.

Namibia's first Seed bank opens its doors

Namibia's first community seed bank opened its doors at Sharukwe village in Kavango West. 

The project, which cost more than N$500,000 to set up, was funded by GIZ, MTC, and the Environmental Investment Fund.

Community Seed Banks are used to collect, store, and protect local seeds. 

MAWLR commits to supply water to affected communities

A large number of cattle have died in Kabbe South Constituency in the Zambezi Region from an unknown disease since July.

Carcasses have been discovered in the flood plains of Nakabolelwa, Ihaha, and Ivilinvinvi, among others, as the dead cattle could not be taken to the villages for human consumption.
