Floods force school closures in Ohangwena

The Shingunguma Primary School and Onghala Combined School in the Ohangwena Region have suspended classes due to heavy rains received in the region, accompanied by floodwater from Angola.

A delegation led by Ohangwena Governor Sebastian Ndeitunga took a trip to the two schools to observe the situation.

Otjozondjupa Regional leaders have warned locals against consuming spoiled maize meal from bags that were recently disposed of at Otavi’s dumping site. 

These bags were discarded because they had become moldy due to rainwater leaking into the Namib Mills storage facility.
