Pensioners in Omaruru have called on the politicians who will win the upcoming election to create jobs for their children and increase social grants.

609 residents of Rehoboth's Block E residential area received the title deeds for their properties through the Rehoboth Alienation Scheme that was established in 1992.

Rehoboth Mayor Amanda Groenewaldt described the moment as joyful, as they had been waiting for 46 years for it.

Namibia has secured its first commercial off-take agreement between HyIron and Benteler, a renowned German auto parts manufacturer, where Namibia will supply up to 200,000 tonnes of direct reduced iron, or DRI.
 

The Minister in the Presidency, Christine ||Hoëbes, says Namibia is emerging as a prominent producer of green iron, poised to produce over 2 million tonnes of direct reduced iron (DRI) by 2030.

||Hoëbes said this during the HyIron Oshivela Project Site Visit and Project Milestones Announcement.
