As people leave rural areas in search of a better livelihood, towns such as Swakopmund are under immense pressure, and their capacity to deliver is a challenge.

The City of Windhoek embarked on a mass naming and renaming of 17 streets in honour of those who contributed to the liberation struggle and community upliftment in a ceremony held in Windhoek on Friday.

Many describe the museum as a place where history comes to life. 

A group of Rundu residents walked for 15 kilometres to commemorate World Hypertension Day.

The former Regional Manager for nbc's Nwanyi FM radio, Muhau Mutonga, was buried today in her home village of Malindi in Kabbe South Constituency.

68-year-old Mutonga, who retired eight years ago, served the corporation for 30 years.

The Swakopmund municipality's engineering department reported that the more than N$28 million invested in sewage infrastructure over the past decade has significantly reduced sewage spills in the coastal town.

This improvement comes after extensive repairs and restructuring of the sewage system.

Ongwediva Town Mayor Taarah Shaalyefu emphasised that, despite budgetary constraints, development remains a top priority to accelerate the town's growth.

The Chairperson of People with Disabilities in the Ohangwena Region, Asser Shikongo, has called on the Electoral Commission of Namibia (EC) to, in the build-up to the national elections, be mindful of their responsibilities to citizens with disabilities.
