Nest Hotel celebrates 25th anniversary

The Nest Four Star Hotel which was constructed at Luderitz 25 years ago has given the habour town a face-lift.

This is the site that was earmarked for the construction of a new harbour to accommodate larger vessels at Luderitz and is now where the state-of-the-art four-star hotel has been built.

More than 200 employees of Erongo Marine Enterprises (EME) and Commercial Cold Storage Namibia (CCS) have each received N$65,000 in dividends.

The Walvis Bay-based fishing company has paid out more than N$13 million to all permanent employees.

Elderly woman left homeless

An 83-year-old resident of Kazauli Village in the Katima Rural Constituency was left homeless after her house was gutted by fire.

The fire, which was started by one of her grandchildren, spread through the house and caught on the clothes.

The child then ran out of the house.

Good Samaritans and government urged to aid homeless

A caretaker for displaced people at the Katutura Youth Complex has appealed to good Samaritans, including the government, to come to the aid of the homeless.

A number of homeless people were moved to the sports grounds in March 2020, during the outbreak of COVID-19.
