Not all men sitting on the side of the road are criminals- Klazen

The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Derek Klazen, says not all men sitting on the side of the road, attempting to look for work, are criminals.

Klazen said this at the official opening of the Men on the Side of the Road (MSR) office in Kuisebmund, Walvis Bay.

About 36 homesteads were damaged by heavy rains during this week at Shamaghongo Village in Kavango East Region. Currently some affected villagers are being accommodated in their neighbours' houses. Oshakati Barclays bank bomb blast remembered

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the bomb blast at Oshakati's Barclays bank now FNB Oshakati. 

On that fateful day, 19 February 1988, twenty seven people died and seventy others injured after a bomb went off in the Barclays bank on the then goverment pay day. 

Otavi roads to be upgraded

Otavi residents will heave a sigh of relief as roads, will be upgraded this year to address the pothole issue within the town centre and informal areas.

Otavi Mayor, Isaac !Hoaeb revealed that over N$700 000 has been set aside to refurbish the roads.
