Namibia is recognised by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as one of the countries in Africa with the highest quality roads. 

For the fifth consecutive year, the country has maintained its leading position in road infrastructure on the continent. 

Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo reappointed

President Nangolo Mbumba has reappointed Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo as Inspector General of the Namibian Police for a period of three years. 

The appointment is with effect from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2027.
