Climate change remains a pressing issue in Namibia, affecting the environment, wildlife, communities, and the economy.

Swapo Party MP Kosmos Katura provided feedback to the National Council regarding the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Capacity Development Seminar for Members of Parliament, held in Lusaka, Zambia, last year.

Basic income grants, safety homes, climate change, and land servicing were among the inputs given by civil society during a consultation with the Minister of Finance and Public Enterprise, Iipumbu Shiimi. 

The consultations are regarding priorities for the 2024–2025 mid-year budget review. 

If all goes according to plan, fresh desalinated water will be available from the desalination plant in the Erongo Region by 2027.

This announcement was made by Carl Schlettwein, the Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, during his address at a Land Development Conference in Henties Bay.
