The Body of Christ Party (BCP) has agreed with the urgent need to pass the Land Bill as a first step toward addressing landlessness in Namibia.

Residents of Katutura Central, who have been grappling with a sanitation crisis for years, escalated the situation on Monday morning by disposing of sewage-contaminated waste at the City of Windhoek's headquarters as a protest against their perceived "seven years of neglect".

Ohangwena Regional Council Chairperson, Erickson Ndawanifa, has called for unity among regional councillors, emphasising that collective effort is key to improving the lives of all inhabitants in the region.

Frustrated residents of Walvis Bay have petitioned the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, to dissolve the current municipal council over alleged poor service delivery and mismanagement.

However, the minister said the timing is not right to take such action.

Fed up with Karasburg Town Council over poor service delivery, residents want the Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, to intervene.

A group of disgruntled residents petitioned the council against what they described as a lack of accountability and transparency.

He said that while some towns have reported weather affecting electricity, this doesn't seem to be the case in more developed areas.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has called on elected office holders and stakeholders to prioritise service delivery and good governance. 

Some of the issues related to service delivery in Rundu are in the process of being addressed.

With NamPost to officially taking over the distribution of social grants from 1st October, concerns have been raised about whether the Ministry of Finance will make provision for the beneficiaries residing in remote areas without them having to travel long distances.
