Namibia has reiterated the need for continued unity among member countries of the Global South.

The Swapo Party Vice President has called for unity among party members, regardless of which candidate they supported during last year's Congress.

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah made the call at a party rally held in Rehoboth to formally communicate the outcomes of the 7th Swapo Party Congress.

The Swapo Party's Vice President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged members to remain united and focused on strengthening the party if it is to withstand an increasingly competitive political climate.

She addressed a party rally at Walvis Bay.

The former Special Advisor to the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ambassador Tuliameni Kalomoh, says the continent has failed to enhance and accelerate unity and political integration.

The Hambukushu Traditional Authority's spokesperson Ervin Disho has called for unity among followers of the tribal authority.

The SWAPO Party Vice President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called for unity, which she says is not only crucial for the party but also necessary in effectively serving the nation. Nandi-Ndaitwah retained her position after obtaining 421 votes at the just-ended 7th Elective Congress.

The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) has pardoned its members who were suspended and expelled.

Party President Dr Utjiua Muinjangue told a media conference that the decision by the Central Executive Committee aims to restore unity ahead of the 2024 national elections.
