February 4th marks the first anniversary of the death of Namibian leader Hage Geingob.

As the first Prime Minister of Namibia, Dr. Geingob introduced the powerful metaphor of 'The Namibian House,' symbolising a vision of a united and inclusive nation where every citizen feels valued.

Today, we honour his legacy and remember his enduring call for a collective effort to ensure that "no Namibian is left out of the Namibian House."

At the heart of Dr. Geingob's vision was the idea that building and maintaining the Namibian House requires collaboration and commitment from all citizens.

In his inaugural address, he stated, "All of us must play our part in the success of this beautiful house we call Namibia."

This metaphor resonated deeply throughout his presidency as he emphasised peace, stability, and inclusivity as foundational elements.

In his New Year's address in 2024, he reiterated this vision.

As the country remembers its late leader, we reflect on his dream for citizens to commit to continually building on the Namibian House, with his legacy serving as a guiding light.

Let us honour his memory by ensuring that every Namibian feels valued and included in this great nation.

Together, we can foster a spirit of Harambee that will echo through generations to come.
