The 5th Angola ICT Forum 2025 commenced today in Luanda, Angola.
The summit, attended by ICT stakeholders from Angola, the continent, and global players, aims to promote and develop Angola as the continent's technological hub.
Speaking on behalf of President João Lourenço, Minister of State for Economic Coordination José de Lima Massano called for coordinated efforts to improve the ICT sector.
He also emphasized the vital role ICT plays in societal transformation.
Leading the Namibian delegation is Minister of Information and Communications Technology Emma Theofelus.
Theofelus held a meeting with the Yango team on the sidelines of the ICT
Forum to discuss potential partnerships aimed at improving services, including job creation, piloting new products, and facilitating skills transfer—elements Theofelus identified as critical to the partnership.
She stated that Namibia offers a conducive environment for any new products the company may wish to introduce.
The discussions also covered strategies to promote, develop, and enhance the transport sector, not only in Angola but across the continent.
