Swapo Party candidate Titus Rugondo has pledged to work closely with residents of the Sesfontein Constituency if elected in the upcoming by-election scheduled for Tuesday.

Rugondo, currently campaigning in the area, said his plans are rooted in the Swapo Party manifesto, which he described as a blueprint for development and improved service delivery.

"My message is simple: we are guided by the party manifesto. It is our roadmap to uplift the living standards and conditions of our people," Rugondo said.

Addressing a crowd alongside Swapo Party leader Natangwe Ithete, Rugondo stressed that listening to locals would be key to meaningful development.

"I will not do this alone. I live among the people, and they will guide me. The manifesto provides the framework, but the people will define the basic needs we must focus on," he said.

Swapo Party leader and National Assembly member Natangwe Ithete, speaking at a rally in Warmquelle settlement, endorsed Rugondo and urged voters to support the ruling party.

"The Swapo candidate will be the best candidate because the Swapo candidate belongs to Swapo," said Ithete. "Opposition parties are always opposing government progress. It becomes hard to deliver when someone is pulling in the opposite direction."

Ithete added that development is often delayed when opposition councillors politicize government efforts, while Swapo councillors align with national goals.

The Electoral Commission of Namibia confirmed that preparations for the by-election are complete, with voting set to take place on Tuesday.
