The Pupkewitz Foundation marked its 100th anniversary by announcing a significant N$10 million pledge to support six core focus areas over the next 12 months.

The Foundation's pledge symbolises N$100,000 for each year the Pupkewitz Group has been in operation.

"This pledge will be channelled towards the Foundation's six key pillars, reaching communities in all corners of the country, education, empowering minds and unblocking opportunity, health, supporting access to care and well-being, community care, strengthening the social fabric of our nation, environment, protecting the natural beauty that sustains us, support, nurturing talent, unity and discipline, arts and culture, celebrating the stories, creativity and spirit of Namibia," said Meryl Barry, CEO of Pupkewitz Holdings.

Executive Director of the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports, Arts and Culture, Gerard Vries said, "As a ministry, we deeply value the 360-degree approach you have embraced, one that understands that the learner cannot thrive on textbooks alone but needs nutrition, health care, psychosocial support, sports development, and a safe learning environment.

Today's pledge is a powerful message to the Namibian child. You matter. You are not forgotten. We are investing in you because we believe in your future.

Executive Director of the Health & Social Services Ministry, Penda Ithindi, said, "We are dealing with that obligation and duty to make sure that we work together in partnership with the private health sector. We are not competitors, we work in a complementary way to provide quality health care to Namibians, to provide accessible health care and affordable health care to Namibians and all those people that find themselves in the land of the brave."

"Your generosity has directly impacted the lives of athletes, coaches, and administrators, enabling participation, training, and growth where it's needed most. We are especially inspired by your holistic approach of funding not only competitions and equipment but also capacity building and community engagement," said Erwin Handura, Development Officer at NSC.
