President Hakainde Hichilema says Zambia and Namibia have signed progressive agreements that will change the lives of people in the entire region.
Speaking when bidding farewell to outgoing Namibian High Commissioner to Zambia Siyave Haindongo, Hichilema stated that once the bilateral projects are concluded, the region will never be the same.
Since his appointment in 2019, Haindongo has represented Namibia in Zambia under the leadership of three presidents.
While on a tour of duty in Zambia, High Commissioner Haindongo served exemplarily, such that at the time of his departure, he was head of all the African diplomats accredited to Zambia.
During his tour of duty, he hosted several events at the Namibian Diplomatic Mission.
Notable among others are the memorial activities for both the late Presidents Geingob and Nujoma.
For President Hakainde Hichilema, Haindongo's achievements during his time in Zambia are worthy of documenting in Zambian history.
Beyond this, the Zambian President also hinted at the MoUs that the two sister countries are working on, stressing the benefits to the people of the region.
High Commissioner Haindongo has credited these achievements to the support he received from the Zambian people.
Haindongo, like many other veterans, spent many years in Zambia during the liberation struggle.
