President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has confirmed the intent to establish a joint Ministerial Commission as part of the process of reviving a national airline for Namibia.
Press Secretary Jonas Mbambo said Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah discussed this and other matters of mutual interest with Ethiopia's Ambassador to Namibia, Delil Bushra.
Ambassador Bushra presented a letter of credence to the President, pledging to expand the scope of cooperation between the two countries.
Cooperation in the aviation sector topped the priority list, given Ethiopia's advanced aviation sector and continued plans for expansion.
Mbambo said President Nandi-Ndaitwah remains committed to the revival of the national airline for Namibia, and plans for benchmarking from Ethiopia could be considered.
Ambassador Bushra provided his country's assurance to assist Namibia in the overhaul of its aviation sector and other key development priorities.
The Ethiopian diplomat serves Namibia on a non-resident basis from the concurrently accredited Pretoria-based embassy.
