The Swapo Party’s Okongo District Office honoured the First Gentleman, Epaphras Ndaitwah, by renaming the office after him.
While thanking the leadership for the gesture, Ndaitwah urged them to work hard and build on the foundation already laid to develop the country.
Ndaitwah reminded those in attendance about the government's ongoing efforts to bring development and services closer to the people.
With the November Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections ahead, Ndaitwah reminded all eligible voters to mark November 26 to exercise their democratic rights.

"We must ensure we remain the blueprint of the country’s political landscape in all leadership roles. So, go out and cast your votes."
Ohangwena Governor Kadiva Hamutumwa reminded those in attendance that economic liberation for the masses remains central to the government’s priorities, imploring the now Epaphras Ndaitwah Swapo District Office to continue serving the people efficiently and effectively.
"I know that the price of freedom was not only paid at the frontlines but also in the homes and villages that carry the burden of war. That is why I stand here as one of you and part of that history. This office we are remaining in today is a home of political work; it’s where the party stays close to the people, where unity is nurtured and where the values that freed Namibia are passed on to the next generation."
Entertainment was abundant, as veterans of the liberation struggle reminisced with the attendees.
