The Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) has acknowledged the resignation of Phillip Balhao from the party and expressed gratitude for his service and dedication during his time with the IPC.

Balhao’s council membership, during which he served as Mayor of Lüderitz, ended following his resignation, as he had been elected on the party’s ticket.

In a statement issued late this afternoon, the party’s Lüderitz leadership expressed appreciation for Balhao’s contributions to the community under the IPC banner and wished him well in his future political endeavours.

The statement further emphasised that, as the party begins selecting the next generation of delegated representatives, it remains steadfast in its commitment to protecting, defending, and upholding the democratic principles of grassroots participatory democracy.

Expressing confidence that the new representatives will continue to respect the will of the people and consistently place community interests above personal gain, the leadership highlighted that this principle has been evident throughout the party’s short history and stands as a core value of a true patriot.

The leadership reassured members of the party’s commitment to upholding these values without fear or favour toward any individual, focusing on building strong structures, strengthening community trust, and diligently preparing for the tasks ahead.

The party also called on members and patriots to remain focused, united, and guided by the principles of integrity, accountability, and service.
