Newly sworn-in Swakopmund junior mayor, Enya Fortsch, has urged her peers to embrace leadership not as a quest for perfection, but as a commitment to service.

Speaking during her acceptance speech on Monday, Fortsch reminded the junior town council that true leadership is not measured by powerful speeches but by showing up, being willing to learn, and serving the community that depends on them.

She encouraged the newly elected junior councillors to take pride in their roles, stressing that they should not fear responsibility but rather see it as an opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.

The town's Mayor Blasius !Goraseb praised the outgoing junior councillors for their dedication, vision, and service to the community.

He encouraged the incoming council to embrace teamwork, responsibility, and innovation in addressing youth challenges such as substance abuse, unemployment, and school dropouts.
