The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) began issuing duplicate voter cards yesterday.
ECN's spokesperson, De Wet Siluka, said this process will run until Sunday, 23 November.
It is being conducted in all 120 constituencies that are contesting in the Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections, with the exclusion of the Mankupi constituency in the Kavango West Region.
The registration points are open from 08:00 to 17:00.
"If you have misplaced, lost, or damaged your card, please contact us. Some cards have been stolen for some reasons, so if your card is stolen, it also means it's lost, and you do not have your voter's card, so for you to obtain a duplicate, you need to go to the constituency office in the constituency you have registered in."
Siluka said the issuance of duplicate cards is a 2- to 3-minute process as long as the applicant has all the required documentation.
He added that police officers at the points have been given the authority to administer the commissioner's oath to those who lost their voter cards and need a declaration.
