The Zambezi Education Directorate hosted its regional culture festival at Schumansburg Combined School.
The festival is held under the theme "Youth drives creative industry and cultural promotion of economic empowerment."
Addressing the participants, Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula applauded the cultural festivals, saying they are a platform for advocacy.
"In today's world, cultural festivals are an advocacy for meaningful conversations and actions while fostering deeper understanding of the complicity of cultural identity; therefore, we need to understand that cultural festivals are not just celebrations but vital expressions of humanity and enrich our collective experience."
She added that culture and the creative industry are some of the priorities of government as tools to create the much-needed employment opportunities for the youth.
Albert Chunga is the principal of Schumansburg Combined School, located in Luhonono in the Kabbe North constituency.
"This year's theme reminds us of the important role our young people play in preserving our cultural heritage and shaping our future through music, dance, drama and other cultural expressions. Our learners not only showcase their talents but also build confidence, creativity and unity."
