Hundreds of schoolgirls in the Erongo Region are set to benefit from a major sanitary pad donation aimed at promoting personal hygiene, dignity and uninterrupted access to education.

Erongo Governor Nathalia |Goagoses officially received close to 3 thousand packs of sanitary pads from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare (MGECW), an initiative championed by the office of the Speaker, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila.

Speaking at the handover, |Goagoses said the donation represents more than just a health intervention.

She stressed that access to sanitary pads is a matter of dignity and empowerment, ensuring that young girls can attend school confidently without interruption or stigma during their menstrual cycles.

|Goagoses says the initiative strengthens ongoing efforts to support girls' education and improve personal hygiene in school.
She added that investing in the wellbeing of young women ultimately strengthens communities and the nation as a whole.

| Goagoses' speech was delivered on her behalf by the Dâures Constituency Councillor Inecia Brandt.

"I reaffirm our unwavering commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind. When we invest in the dignity and education of our girls, we invest in the future of our nation. To the young women who will benefit from this initiative: know that you are valued and supported and that your dreams matter. This handover is a reminder that your community stands with you and that your journey is one of promise and possibilities."

She also encouraged beneficiaries to remain focused on their dreams, assuring them that the government and communities remain committed to supporting their education and future success.

Erongo region's education director Erenfriede Stephanus received the donation on behalf of the beneficiaries.

"This is the right time to receive this donation. 2978 girls can benefit from this donation, and I will make sure that it will benefit all the girls in the region, from rural schools to urban schools. We really appreciate the donation. Thank you."
