The Prime Minister highlighted the need to eliminate bottlenecks to accelerate service delivery, particularly at the Central Medical Stores.

Dr. Elijah Ngurare says bottlenecks preventing the delivery of medicines across Namibia have been identified.

In some instances, it was found that shortages are not necessarily due to a lack of supply from government, but that certain medicines are not always requested by pharmacists.

Dr. Ngurare has called for accountability from anyone found to be falling short of their duties.

"It is important that after this visit, we should be able to assure ourselves, all of us who have come here, that it is. So it is to get that assurance that it will happen. And nobody is going to bring in any bottleneck to derail the good intention of the rest of them. So the political head has spoken. The administration must follow suit. Because she can answer in Parliament, but if on the ground here, people are not delivering, it will look like somehow, somewhere, somebody is sabotaging it. And that is what we don't want to see."

The Prime Minister also engaged with patients, some of whom raised concerns about long queues, prompting the ministry to find ways to address the issue.
