Young people have been encouraged to become a generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, and problem-solvers.
To this effect, a Youth-to-Youth Indaba was held at Okongo in the Ohangwena region.
The indaba was organised by the Swapo Party, Okongo District, to provide young people with information on how to apply for the National Youth Development Fund.
Addressing the gathering, the Youth League Secretary for Information and Mobilisation, Sylvia Linus, encouraged the youth to not wait for opportunities but instead to create them.
"Do not rely on rumours or hearsay; do not be misled by misinformation. Be informed, be responsible, and be active participants in nation-building because this country belongs to all of us. Comrades, as we draw inspiration from our African continent, let us also ground ourselves in the wisdom of our leaders who laid the foundation of this nation."
She urged young people to familiarise themselves with the Namibian Constitution so they understood their rights and responsibilities.
Linus also called on the youth to draw inspiration from the Head of State, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, who has consistently emphasised that the future of Namibia lies in the hands of its young people.
"This is not just a statement; it is a call to action. In the words of Nelson Mandela, 'It always seems impossible until it is done.' What may seem difficult today can and will be achieved through determination and hard work. Comrades, success is not an event; it is a process. And in that process, there are no shortcuts."
