The Secretary General of the Popular Democratic Movement (PDM), Manuel Ngaringombe, has emphasised the need to address socio-economic development challenges, including unemployment, education, and health.

He was speaking at a media briefing.

"In the health sector, we face the reality of our hospitals and the issue of unequal access to care. Our position is clear: we advocate for a strong public health system that is reinforced by strategic partnerships with the private sector to ensure quality care for all," He said.

Ngaringombe further praised the Ministry of Health for the appearance of the country's state hospitals, which he says have improved remarkably.

"If you go to Central Hospital, just there, the reception, or Katutura Hospital, you feel that I'm in the hospital. The smell and the neatness in the hospitals are noticeable. I can also see the introduction of certain divisions and what they are trying to do. Let them keep up."

Ngaringombe emphasised the PDM's positioning as a centre-right political party, highlighting its recent three-day Leadership Training Indaba.

"We believe in a Namibia where the private sector is empowered and where the government is efficient, not excessive. And where policies deliver real results for the Namibian nation. We are moving away from abstract promises and towards practical, solution-driven governance. Whatever we do in parliament, wherever, wherever, we really want to be very practical so that we can improve the lives of our people."

The party says it also has a strategic document called Rebuild, Redirect, and Expand, highlighting its commitment to rebuild the party's internal strength, to redirect its policies as a movement and to expand its reach to every corner of the country.
