Gospel music lovers and praise and worship leaders in Namibia can look forward to a spirit-filled Restoration Concert in 2026, featuring renowned artists Benjamin Dube from South Africa and GUC from Nigeria.
The announcement came during the official launch of the 2026 event, which aims to raise funds for the Never Walk Alone Project to buy school shoes for underprivileged children.
Established in 2023, the concert has grown steadily, with last year's edition drawing over 11,000 worshippers.
Project Never Walk Alone spokesperson Dr. Nangula Mbako said the concert unites people through music, stories, and purpose to raise awareness and funds.
"The restoration concert is our way of uniting people through music, stories and purpose so that we can spread awareness and raise the funds needed to give these children shoes. We've seen the amazing videos since 2023, but way before that, this vision and mission have been brewing, and every step they take, every school they face, is a step towards the future helping to build. It is not only about the shoes; it's about giving these children a chance to walk in confidence knowing that someone cares," Mbako said.
The lineup also includes multi-award-winning Zimbabwean gospel artist Michael Mahendere and 19 Namibian gospel artists from across the country.
Media personality Ndilimeke Nambinga noted a pledge of N$5,000, despite shortfalls, to be shared among 24 churches as a thank you for their support.
"It is to say thank you, and we appreciate you; we honour you, and we say thank you for your support. So please, each and every one of you, you have a responsibility, and as Dr. Mbako said, you are sowing a seed," Nambinga said.
The fourth edition of the concert is scheduled for 31 October this year.
