Ruguru Investment donated a two-classroom block to Kamina Junior Primary School at Nkurenkuru in the Kavango West Region.

The donation is worth N$1.3 million.

Kamina Junior Primary School was established in 1979.

For 47 years the school has been serving the communities of Kakuro, Siurungu and Nkurenkuru, catering for pre-primary up to Grade three with five teachers and 110 learners.

Learners were taught in tents, which was not conducive, leading to low enrolment as parents took their children to schools with better infrastructure, acting principal Matheus Homateni said.

Acting Principal at Kamina Junior Primary School, Matheus Homateni, said, "These classrooms have taken our learners out of tents and into a dignified learning environment. They will reduce overcrowding and give hope back to the parents of Kakuro, Siurungu and Nkurenkuru. On behalf of Kamina Junior Primary School and the three communities we serve, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ruguru Investment."

The principal added that while celebrating the classrooms, the school still needs ablution facilities, as they still use a pit latrine.

Ruguru Investment constructed two classrooms, a storeroom and minor renovation of the existing block.
