The Ministry of Works and Transport is prioritising the completion of road projects already approved and under construction in the Omaheke Region.
The Deputy Minister of Works and Transport, Hans Haikali, said this while visiting the road construction projects in the region, including the Du Plessis Plaas-Epukiro and the Gobabis-Otjombinde road.
Haikali said the government's focus is now on ensuring that projects that have already started are completed before new ones are approved.
"So as a government we don't want to over-commit. That's why we are now proceeding with only the ongoing projects. It means that we are not going to start new projects until we are done with the projects that we are doing now."
Okorukambe and Otjombinde Constituency Councillors welcomed the government's commitment to prioritising the roads' completion.
The construction of roads will continue as government works to deliver on the projects.
