Former President Hifikepunye Pohamba has called for greater involvement of all stakeholders in their development efforts.
Pohamba, who was speaking at the remembrance of liberation struggle icon Tobias Hainyeko at Ohaihana Village in Ohangwena, emphasised that sustainable progress requires collective participation.
The former president highlighted the importance of infrastructure development in accelerating economic growth and improving the lives of ordinary citizens.
He noted that the government has prioritised the construction and upgrading of road infrastructure as part of its broader development agenda, particularly in rural areas where access to essential services and economic opportunities remains a challenge.
Improved road networks, he stressed, play a critical role in enhancing communication, connectivity, and the movement of people and goods, thereby contributing to national development.
"Roads that we have constructed brought development to the country. So, let's work hard to build our country. If we are not working, how are we going to build? Let us work hard to develop our country."
He added that roads serve as a catalyst for economic and social transformation.
