Following a briefing with the regional leadership on the ongoing floods in the Zambezi region on Wednesday, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah visited Luhonono in the Kabbe North Constituency to assess the situation on the ground.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah revealed that Namibia has scrapped a law requiring fathers' presence as a prerequisite for mothers to obtain birth certificates.

The president noted that this regulation had previously hindered many Namibians from acquiring essential documents.

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah officially inaugurated the Kavango West Civic Affairs Regional Office at Nkurenkuru.

The centre aims to bring vital services closer to the people. 

Japan has demonstrated its commitment to supporting education and security in Namibia with a recent donation made to the University of Namibia.

The Government of Japan donated equipment, valued at approximately N$1 million, to the University of Namibia.

The Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, together with representatives from the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund, the Police, and other stakeholders, toured the B1 road—from under the bridge at Havana to Chinatown—on Tuesday to observe traffic flow.
