The Otjomatoororero group, consisting of peers, is urging young people to come up with innovative ideas and form partnerships to be self-sustainable and develop their communities. 

The Opuwo Town Council says it made great strides in housing development and service delivery in 2024. 

The Council Support Officer for the Opuwo Town Council, Gebhardt Makono, said the council has so far allocated over 300 housing plots to the Shack Dweller Federation. 

The community leader of the Mix Settlement, Lucia Bashir, is pleading with the government, institutions, and the City of Windhoek to build recreational facilities at the settlement to reduce criminal activities among young people.
