Rehoboth resident Naomi Fisch has been arrested again after police allegedly discovered bags of cocaine at her home, weeks after she was released on bail.

Fisch was granted N$10,000 bail last month by a magistrate, despite opposition from the State, which argued that she was likely to reoffend.

The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa, has demanded answers from the residents and leaders in Rehoboth over the town's growing debt to national utility providers.

Sankwasa warned that water and electricity supplies could be cut off if the situation is not resolved.

Rehoboth mayor Jacky ǂKhariseb says the planned suspension of the town’s water supply by NamWater has been put on hold following engagements between stakeholders.

The town owes the water utility N$150 million.

Fisch was warned not to interfere with police investigations and not to leave the Rehoboth district without written permission from the investigating officer.

First Gentleman Epaphras Denga Ndaitwah has called on learners in Rehoboth to stay away from drugs and alcohol. 

Speaking at Dr. Lemmer Secondary School, he warned that substance abuse can derail education, limit opportunities, and weaken the country's development. 

The Prosecutor General has applied for a preservation order to freeze the bank accounts of Rehoboth drug accused Naomi Fisch, pending a possible forfeiture of the funds to the state.

Detective Inspector Pendukeni Nghuluwa informed Magistrate Wilka Amalwa that the sale of drugs continued at drug accused Naomi Fisch’s house even after her arrest.

Detective Inspector Pendukeni Nghuluwa, this morning, testified that there are serious allegations that a Rehoboth resident died at drug-accused Naomi Fisch’s house while doing drugs.

He said bail should not be granted, as these allegations are still being investigated.

Detective Inspector Pendukeni Nghuluwa took the witness stand to oppose bail for Naomi Fisch, describing her as a well-known drug dealer in Rehoboth.

Nghuluwa stated that Fisch has a history of arrests and currently has a pending drug case.

The town of Rehoboth has come under scrutiny for drug use following the arrest of five individuals on drug-related charges. 

Among those arrested are Naomi Fisch and her boyfriend, Steven Schneiders.
