The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has expressed deep concern over a disturbing incident in which a man, alleged to be the father of a minor girl, reportedly made her smoke a hookah pipe, commonly known as a hubbly bubbly.

The Ministries of Gender Equality and Child Welfare and of Information and Communication Technology on Wednesday launched a campaign to raise awareness and combat gender-based violence nationwide.

The programme themed 'hashtag End GBV Namibia was launched at the UN Plaza in Katutura.

Educarers from Oshana, Omusati, Ohangwena, and Oshikoto regions have made public their dissatisfaction with the Ministry of Gender Equality, Poverty Eradication, and Social Welfare, who they say have been brazenly underpaying them.
