The Minister of Works and Transport, Veikko Nekundi, has confirmed that the Walvis Bay weighbridge is operational.

This follows concerns raised by IPC MP Nelson Kalalunga regarding delays in the repairs at the testing pit.

The heavy rainfall yesterday damaged several houses in Windhoek, leaving residents scrambling to repair them this morning.

Among the worst-hit areas were Otjomuise, Havana, and Greenwell Matongo, where many homeowners were seen patching up broken structures.

The Swakopmund municipality's engineering department reported that the more than N$28 million invested in sewage infrastructure over the past decade has significantly reduced sewage spills in the coastal town.

This improvement comes after extensive repairs and restructuring of the sewage system.
