National Assembly backs long-awaited Mental Health Bill

Namibia’s National Assembly recently resumed debate on the long-awaited Mental Health Bill, receiving full support from the entire house. 

However, several Members of Parliament (MPs) raised concerns about insufficient infrastructure to adequately house mental health patients.

Finance Minister Shafudah reallocates N$1.2 billion in mid-term budget review

Finance Minister Erica Shafudah has reallocated N$1.2 billion in her mid-term budget review, tabled in the National Assembly this afternoon.

The bulk of the reallocation will go towards the government's Subsidised Free Tertiary Education, during the first quarter of next year.
