Insufficient budget allocations have delayed completion of the Kavango West Regional Council Office, forcing the council to spend N$120,000 monthly on rent since construction began in 2021.

The Kavango West Region's 2025/2026 budget falls short of addressing critical needs, according to local leaders, with allocations of N$68 million for capital projects and N$48 million for operations deemed too minimal.

The Nkurenkuru Town Council has raised concerns that the underfunding of the N$6 million budget may hinder critical town development.
