Zambezi Region sees decline in GBV cases

The Zambezi Region records an average of 34 cases of gender-based violence on a monthly basis. 

According to a regional review by NamPol’s GBV unit, 90% of the victims are female and 10% are male. 

Local donors provide safety boots to support COSDEC trainees in Gobabis

 A local Omaheke farmer and two other benefactors donated safety boots to six needy COSDEC trainees at Gobabis.

The donation follows COSDEC Omaheke reaching out for assistance for trainees at the centre who lacked safety boots. 

Speaking on behalf of the donors was Sarah |Goagoses.

Liberation fighter Rebekka Nepemba Shaningwa buried

A veteran of the liberation struggle, Rebekka Nepemba Shaningwa, was buried at Ntara village in the Kavango West Region.

Shaningwa died on the 18th of June at the age of 75.

Tombstone unveiled for liberation icon Kephes "King Jury" Conradie

The tombstone unveiling for freedom fighter, Kephes Harry "King Jury" Conradie, was held on Saturday morning at Katutura Cemetery in Dolam, marking the 11th anniversary of his death.

Conradie, born in 1937 in Windhoek's Old Location, was a notable figure in Namibia's liberation struggle. 

Okahandja and Okakarara mayors seek CoW's support for local development
