The National Council Standing Committee members who visited government-funded agriculture projects found several of them in poor condition, with some abandoned and vandalised.

The MPs were on a follow-up visit from 13 to 24 January 2025 to assess progress and the impact of these projects in six regions.

Veteran Namibian playwright, actor & arts activist Frederick Brian Philander was buried at the Pioneerspark Cemetery in Windhoek over the weekend.

Philander died on 10 May.

Ministry revises national Gender-Based violence plan amid rising cases

The Ministry of Gender Affairs and Child Welfare is reviewing and developing a revised National Gender-Based Violence Plan of Action, which will act as a guiding tool in the intervention of the day-to-day fight against GBV.

This was revealed by the Executive Director of the Ministry, Lydia Indombo.

Iyaloo Investment wants outstanding 50% fishing quotas

Iyaloo Women Investment is calling on the government to release the outstanding 50 percent of fishing quotas allocated to the company under the Government Employment Redress Programme.

The company was granted 250 metric tonnes of hake to support employment creation.
