The memorial service for veteran journalist and former Swapo Party Regional Councillor Erasmus Captain Hendjala will be held on Friday, 9 January, at Oinyikanyika-Olupandu in the Omusati Region.

Hendjala died in Ongwediva on January 2 at the age of 78.

Namibia faces critical blood shortage

The country's blood supply is currently at a critical level. The spokesperson for the Namibian Blood Transfusion Service (NamBTS), Frieda Asino-Vatilemi, says there is only enough blood to last for this week, placing the country in a crisis.
