Residents of Keetmanshoop have urged the government to step up action against the growing crisis of gender-based violence (GBV). 

Namibia and Windhoek will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Berlin-Windhoek sister city partnership this week.

The Rehoboth Mayor Justin Coetzee described the handing over of the Kaptein's House as a bridge between the past and the present. 

Coetzee said the Baster community built a society in Rehoboth grounded in discipline, faith, and self-governance. 

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has handed over the Kaptein's House to the Baster community in Rehoboth. 

The building served as the residence of the late Baster leader, Hans Diergaardt, who died in 1998.
