Police investigate murders and sexual assault cases over the weekend

The Namibian police have reported the murder of a 42-year-old man in Bethanie’s Riverside location.

The victim was stabbed by a 26-year-old suspect who was taken into custody.

In Keetmanshoop’s Tseiblaagte area, a 40-year-old man died following a stabbing incident at a bar.

Namibian police seize over N$300,000 worth of drugs and illicit goods

The Namibian police have seized drugs and illicit goods totalling N$304,890 over the weekend.

On Friday in Klein Kuppe, a 38-year-old Angolan man was arrested after being found in possession of 2,452 tablets suspected to be ecstasy.

The estimated street value of the drugs is N$294,240.

A 38-year-old Angolan national was arrested in Windhoek on Friday after it was determined that he was the alleged owner of a parcel containing ecstasy worth N$294,240.

The parcel was shipped to Namibia from Europe in November of last year.

Hardap Region records 10.7% drop in crime for 2024

Police in the Hardap Region have recorded a 10.7% decrease in overall crimes reported in 2024 compared to the previous year.

The Regional Crime Investigations Division Head, Deputy Commissioner John Mwatongwe, revealed this at a media briefing held at Mariental.
