President Nangolo Mbumba says the work of former US President, Jimmy Carter left a permanent footprint in the annals of history. 

Carter who served as the 39th President of the USA, died on Sunday, aged 100. He served from 1977 to 1981.

It is also where national hero José Martí is buried.
