The Namibia Gospel Music Awards will return this year after an eight-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic and financial challenges.

This year's 3rd edition will recognise gospel artists across 10 categories, with the awards ceremony set to take place on 03 October.

NASCAM CALLS FOR MORE LOCAL MUSIC AIRPLAY

The Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music (NASCAM) has urged the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) to increase local artists' airplay and to ensure Namibian artists benefit from royalties, noting that current airplay stands at 52% international and 48% local music.

Jackson Kaujeua Junior dies in Norway

Jackson Kaujeua Junior, son of the iconic Namibian musician the late Jackson Kaujeua, died in Norway this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was aged 46.

He made the appeal in a tribute to reggae icon Ras Sheehama, who passed away today.

14-year-old Sadler has been selected to represent Namibia on a global stage in New York from 9–18 July next year.
